I always used to wonder how yogis could be so calm, and by simply stretching they connected to their “center”. They could just “be”. My center has always been full of boundless energy, the hustle, the grind, and always seeking ways to be the best version of me. Could these worlds’ co-exist? Could you have the push, and pull and the inner calm along the way? Does the straight edge perfectionist resonate with the curvy lines, and the coloring outside of the lines that make up a true, authentic human? I am confident that if you are reading this you resonate with this crazy form of opposites in some way.
In my business, being the calm in the storm, much like the bow pose is for the yogi, is the reminder or the change agent I am for my clients. Before I enter a room, or I get on the phone with my people, there is a choice that I make to convey to them that everything is going to be okay, and that all things are possible.
I have news for all of my people; my buyers, sellers, and investors out there; this feeling is available to you at all times. I just show up to remind you of what you already know.
This is not a post about positive thinking, or how to attract checks in the mail, or how to perfect your downward facing dog. This is a post about being content in the moment just as it is. It is about choosing an electrifying, excellent experience no matter if you are cleaning toilets, or getting pampered at the spa. It is about the colliding of two worlds, and being completely awake in all that you do, be, and have.
In the real estate industry, if your home buying experience is stressful, please understand that it will be over for you soon. You will look back on it as a distant memory instead of an exhilarating experience. For heaven’s sake, why would you opt for that? Would you please consider consciously deciding how your experience is going to go?
If you are selling your home, the process is in your face day in and day out. If you are living in the home, the sale process can become an obsession instead of the next step that you need to take, to get to where you want to go. How did we go from accomplishing the American dream to making it such a pain in the ass?
It isn’t about lowering standards or compromising your high expectations of great service. It is about enjoying the ride. Simply put, life is a game, a movie, or a skit. You choose the plot, the characters, and the experiences. Isn’t it best for you, your family, friends, and people around you that you wake up, and choose fan-freaking-tastic experiences? That you never settle for less than exuding happiness and fulfillment?
Experiencing reality just as it is, that is the awakening, it is the peace, and the end of the stress and suffering. Would you consider the duality in all things, and stop resisting? If the truth is that you are resisting, see that and the awareness alone will bring freedom from the thing that you are struggling with. Choose consciously. Never, ever settle!
