Nobody likes moving! But if you are on the fence about relocating to Boise, ID, you should totally think twice and weight your pros and cons carefully! People relocate for a variety of reasons. It may be due to a job transfer, but sometimes a person is able to choose the area of relocation. For all we know, you may be “stuck” relocating to Boise, or willingly make a decision to live in our amazing foothills central!
Following are reasons why moving to the Boise-area is a decision you won’t ever regret:
Seasons. Boise truly has all 4 seasons. Spring is a time when the weather starts warming, the flowers are budding, and a variety of baby animals are spotted. For those sun worshipers, the summers in Boise will not disappoint! Temperatures rise and evenings are the time to enjoy. The sun sets late around here, and festivities continue into the night. The transition from summer to fall is welcomed with the turning of leaves, a cozy change in temperature, and the appearance of fall attire. Children in the Boise area cannot wait for winter because of the SNOW! Not only because a snow day here and there is likely, but because of the endless activities that the snow brings with it!
The drivers. Rumor has it that the drivers around Boise are polite. Letting someone in, you will always receive a “wave” as a gesture of thanks. Not only are we polite, but we are also safe! According to bankrate.com, Boise ranks as the 2nd safest city to drive in the country! The likelihood of a collision is 28% less likely versus the national average. If you aren’t already convinced, continue reading!
Entertainment. Boise has access to a variety of entertainment but is surrounded by unlimited options, venturing into other parts of Idaho. Boise has a great downtown scene full of nightlife, boutique shopping, and eateries that are ranked high among Yelpers. The nightlife offers a variety of options from the sophisticated classy night out, to college students celebrating their A+. We are a hub for all of the major concerts and also an area where underground and budding artists prevail. There are many theatrical venues, a local favorite being the Shakespeare Festival, which is held in an outdoor amphitheater from June – September. All of this entertainment, before even touching on the outdoor lifestyle, the Treasure Valley has to offer. You name it, we’ve got it! Boiseans are fond of all outdoor activities and have even brought the surf-life to our landlocked paradise. The completion of Boise’s Whitewater Park offers a wave in the river that is jam packed during the summer with people hanging ten! These are a few of the Treasure Valley’s hidden entertainment gems.
Fine dining. Boise has been getting a rep for being a “foodie town” lately. Well it is totally true, especially given the amount of great places to go out for a nice dinner or grab a quick lunch or breakfast. Abundance of different cuisines this town has to offer is just insane. People go out all the time forming some bonding family traditions. Others make it all about the date night, or just a simple bite to eat along with some fine people watching. Who would say no to amazing gourmet foods? Duhhh?
Low crime rates. According to movoto.com, “For every 100,000 people, Boise saw just 2,792 crimes in 2012, only 267 of which were violent, and none of which were murder. The vast majority of crimes reported were thefts (2,019), followed by 432 burglaries and 202 assaults per 100,000.” This is a place where we don’t hesitate to let the kids be kids and explore the neighborhood. We are often asked about the “bad areas of town” and are caught off-guard, because there are no “bad areas” per se. Isn’t that pretty lovely?
Blue grass. The final and arguably most important reason why moving to Boise is a great decision, is because the grass isn’t only greener here, it’s BLUE too!!
